Tropical Still Life - Drawing with Tisha Tejaya
SUNDAY 28 FEB 2021 | 10:00AM - 11:30AM
Tickets are $15
Join Tisha Tejaya and Emma Lupin for a morning of drawing fresh fruit and vegetables from Darwin's Rapid Creek Markets, while learning growing tips and discussing local recipes from the community!
Tisha is the author and illustrator of the Parap and Rapid Creek Market Pocketbook, and is keen to share her methods on how to capture the likeness of fruit and veg in punchy, effective, charcoal and ink techniques.
Emma is the local food lover behind the blog Taste of The Top End and the driver behind GULP NT. Ask her about local tropical and native fruits and vegetables, as she is familiar with foraging, growing, cooking and creating with the abundance of variety in the Top End.
You are very welcome to bring along a hand-picked item from the markets you'd like to learn more about, and we'd love to hear about your favourite recipes and anecdotes to do with local produce. Tisha is always on the lookout for inspiration and you might just make it into the second edition of the Pocketbook...
This event is run in collaboration with Darwin Community Arts, who have been funded by the City of Darwin to run a workshop series.
Car parking at the clock tower or catch a number 4 bus.
For covid safety precautions please sign in on the day and do not attend if you are feeling at all unwell with cold or flu symptoms.
