How-to Workshop: Understand & reduce your carbon footprint

THURSDAY 6 AUG 2020 | 6:30PM - 8PM

Charles Darwin University, Blue, Room 1.1.14

Join us for this interactive workshop led by Max Smith and Karen Timms of Gecko Sustainability and Lou De Mattia from COOLmob to build an understanding of what a carbon footprint is and how you can reduce yours in practical ways in Darwin.

The facilitators will introduce the idea of carbon footprints, and how these are inextricably linked to climate change in a broad sense. We will be splitting into groups to brainstorm and analyse how and why you can reduce your carbon emissions from transport, travel, energy use, water use, food, consumption habits and waste. Group work will allow you to share your experiences and ideas, and be inspired by other participants, not just the facilitators.

You'll leave with the information and tools required to actively reduce the impact of your daily habits and lifestyle choices on the climate in Darwin.

We encourage you to use one of the carbon footprint calculators on our website before the website so you have more of an idea of your estimated footprint.

This workshop is run as part of the COOLmob's Cool Communities Project.
