Sustainable House Day - Open Native, Edible & Verge Garden

SATURDAY 10 OCT 2020 | 8:00AM - 10AM

Graeme's home

Address provided upon ticket purchase 0810

COOLmob and Darwin Community Arts are excited to bring you this open garden as part of Sustainable House Day 2020.

Get ready for a morning in the garden as we head to Graeme's open garden in Brinkin which has been transformed from a grassy garden into an ecological and edible oasis. Upon purchasing the property in 2013, Graeme and his partner have spent many hours replacing the extensive lawn, stone pavers and palms into a something completely different... expect to see a combination of indigenous woodland and monsoon rainforest, and vegetable garden and fruit trees spanning across the whole property and onto the verge.

Graeme will be sharing about the experience and the lessons learnt in creating a low maintenance, water-wise and ecological garden.

What's growing at the moment? Natives, edibles, a pumping verge garden... see you there as the season turns!

Garden will be open for walking around from 8am - 10am, with a talk and question time with Graeme at 8.30am.

BYO water bottle and head to the refreshments table for a top up.

Funds raised go towards COOLmob and Darwin Community Arts, both non for profit community organisations, allowing them to run more events like this.
